About Us
Our Story
Renew Physical Therapy, an independent manual physical therapy clinic, was established in December of 2015 by Michael and Heidi Cantwell, who met while working at a well-established outpatient orthopedic physical therapy clinic in 2002. Michael was mentored by a reputable manual physical therapist from New Zealand, who had trained under renowned manual physical therapists around the world. Michael eventually became clinical director of this Southeast Portland clinic until it relocated to Beaverton in December of 2015. At that time, we were inspired to begin a new journey of providing top-quality, affordable, and individualized manual therapy care in a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. We were excited to open Renew Physical Therapy and make it our personal goal to ensure that every patient who walks through our door has a positive experience.
Our Clinic Philosophy
Our facility features 3 private treatment rooms and an open gym area to treat all of our patients’ needs. Our treatments are one-on-one, hands-on, pain-free, and focused on the root cause of each patient’s symptoms. Our manual therapy emphasis means that, rather than attempting to decrease pain by strengthening a painful body part, as conventional physical therapy does, we believe in eliminating pain by improving joint function through mobilization techniques, patient education, and behavioral modification strategies.
