Southeast Division Street is a popular route which begins at the edge of the eastern waterfront of the Willamette River, stretches through the heart of Southeast Portland, and extends east into Gresham. Centrally located on this length of Division, at SE 110th Avenue & SE Division, you will find Renew Physical Therapy.
Many physical therapists in SE Portland, and beyond, promise to provide a higher quality of life and successful recovery, but not all of them explain how. Below are three ways Renew Physical Therapy is different.
We Listen to Patients
This is the key for several reasons. We may be experts in physical therapy, but it is you, the patient, who is experiencing the pain. We know that the largest concerns patients have is not being heard. We listen. We also know that the best way to create a path for successful recovery is having all the information—and that comes from listening.
There is a misconception that pain is a normal component in physical therapy and rehabilitation. Our treatments are focused on the root cause of each patient’s symptoms. This means we provide one-on-one, hands-on, and pain-free treatments.
Manual Physical Therapy vs. Physical Therapy
What is the difference? Manual physical therapy is more specific and known as a hands-on approach. Physical therapists who are trained in manual therapy can use their hands to isolate the tissue or joint which is causing the patient’s symptom. Technology and tools can’t replace a physical therapist’s ability to assess your symptoms.
